HONG KONG -- The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Tuesday elected Yoshinori Imai as its president for the next three years.
Imai, who beat Abdolali Aliaskari of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) to the job, is VP of Japanese pubcaster NHK.
The ABU had been without a president since the beginning of the year when the then NHK president Genichi Hashimoto resigned.
